Dad's Dream Vacation

You know the cliche "Don't put off til tomorrow, what you can do today"? Well, it doesn't just apply to boring chores it applies to cruising or vacations in general too. We have all used the excuse that we are short on cash or I need to pay the homeowners insurance or we really could use a new refridgerator or we aren't ready to go yet...

My whole childhood I can remember my Dad always wanting to go to Alaska. He had magazines, books, movies anything he could find about Alaska. He was an avid fisherman & hunter so that even made the allure of Alaska even greater.
He never did get to go back then, it was just too costly, too much time away, all the typical excuses we all have.

Years had passed and after I got into the travel business I had suggested to my sister that for our parents 50th Wedding Anniversary we send them on an Alaska Cruise. It seemed like the best way to get them to Alaska as they were older now & my Dad wasn't in the best of health anymore. Well, we decided to go for it, not only sending them but also going along on the cruise to help celebrate.

I booked us on a Royal Carribean Inside Passage cruise aboard the Rhapsody of the Seas, sailing in June of 1999. Being the "mathematicians" that we are (not), my sister & I were off a few years on when our parents 50th Anniversary was, 7 years to be exact! Anyway, we presented them with the cruise on Christmas morning, needless to say they were both very surprised and excited, especially Dad.

June 1999 finally came and we were off the Alaska. It was the best! Dad was in his glory with all the beautiful scenery, salmon fishing in Ketchikan, flying in a float plane over glaciers, airboating on a river with hundreds of eagles all around. Plus getting pampered and treated like a King on the ship. It was the best Family Vacation ever!

Looking back, my sister and I are so thankful that we got Mom & Dad's 50th Anniversary year wrong and went to Alaska, as Mom & Dad never did make it to celebrate 50 years of marriage. He passed away in 2002. So the old Cliche is true..."Don't put off til tommorow what you can do today"... even if it is 7 years to early.

So please call us to plan that special Family Vacation. A Clearwater Cruises Vacation Planner can set you up with that trip you have been waiting a lifetime to take.

The Best Cruise (sleep) ever!!

The last thing one would think about when planning a cruise is how well they are going to sleep ...right? Well, if you are planning on going on a Carnival cruise in the future, let me tell you, you are not going to want to get out of bed and not because you are on your Honeymoon!
I was on the Carnival Miracle for a seven night cruise last year and it wasn't the food, the ship, the crew or the fun that made my trip...it was the mattress. I have never in my life slept on a mattress that was as comfortable as the one on the Miracle. I had mentioned it to a couple of my fellow cruisers and they agreed. Well, our cruise was coming to an end and usually I can't wait to get home to have all the comforts that you are used too. Well not this time! I wasn't looking forward to my old mattress.

After a few months at home, Penny, my co-worker here at Clear Water Cruises happened to be looking around Carnival's Web-site and GUESS WHAT she found? Carnival sells the mattress and the bedding that they use on the ships(not used ones cause I know you are getting grossed out now) but brand new ones!

OH MY GOSH, I Had to have one! So needless to say, I got one. They are made and imported from the Netherlands and delivered right to your home. The prices on them are reasonable too, not any more expensive than a good quality mattress that you would get at a mattress store.

So if you are interested in having the best sleep ever, buy one! If you aren't ready to take the plunge and take my word for it, then CALL US and we will get you a WEEK FREE mattress trial with the purchase of any Carnival cruise!!!!!!!!!

Well off to sleep now..................
